Bali: Nightlife Schedule Monday to Sunday

Hand on your heart – Who’s also completely losing the sense of time in Bali and needs to think twice about the fact if its Monday, Wednesday or already Friday. Right I am being honest, sometimes I wake up and I don’t even know what day actually is. This is mainly caused because everyone here is trying to make the most of a day, everyday. There is no separation between working days and weekends. Shops are not closing at 8pm latest as in Germany (or are completely dead on Sunday – forget to buy anytime there on that day). People here are not trying to survive Monday till Friday in a frustrated way for finally chasing free time for themselves and do what makes them actually happy on Saturdays and Sundays. People here pursue their jobs on Thursday and are going out after at the same day because it gives them the energy for still doing it. And I think that mindset and sense for activity is exactly what a healthy work-life balance looks like. Everyday is an amazing day we can be grateful for – so we shouldn’t waste it and use that 24 hours for what makes us happy

So I want to give you guys a “little schedule” about where you can go at the evening or night for sunset, dancing or even clubbing from Canggu down to Seminyak and South Bali like Uluwatu – as the amount of spots can be a bit overwhelming now. Of course every day is different and that’s just my personal experience what works best for me. So choose by your own location, preference of music and time:

Monday:

Luigi’s Hot Pizza (Jalan Batu Mejan, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80351; Opening hours 4pm – 12am): As the name is already saying, this place is famous for it’s pizza parties especially at the beginning of the week. So if you want to meet your crush or some other tinder dates, you will find them there as is’t basically the spot to be at that day. Entry is free until 10pm – after they will charge you 150 IRD (around 10 Euro). So be fast, because it can get super crowed and it’s closing already at midnight. Music: House/Techno

Old Man’s Canggu (Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.117X, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80351; Opening hours 5pm – 1am): After Luigi’s closes, everyone knows where to go next: Old Man’s is 5 minutes away and perfect to bridge over the time until Sandbar is opening it’s doors. The drinks are cheap here and the vibe is always chilled. Music: Commercial Pop

Sandbar Canggu (Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali; Opening hours 5.30pm – late): At Sandbar you can actually start your evening program as well. They do LIVE music around sunset time (from 5.30pm). But the real party is happening around 1am. As the name is already describing it – don’t dress up or to be honest – don’t wear even shoes here. This place is literally in front of the ocean and if there is a big wave coming, you will get wet anyway. If it’s not happening in that way, then when someone is spilling it’s drink all over you while dancing. So if you want to have something fancy and dress up, that’s the wrong place. However, Sandbar is always so much fun and it’s impressing, watching such a big crowd of people dancing in front of the ocean in the night from the top floor. It’s basically a huge beach party, you should not miss this out at least one time when you are in Bali. It’s a must! Music: Commercial Pop

Tuesday:

Café Del Mar Bali (Jl. Subak Sari, Canggu, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 10am – 11pm): This venue is originally born in Ibiza 1980 and located all over the world now from Sydney, Malta, Phuket, Abu Dhabi and more. Basically it is another expensive beach club in Bali where the tourists can leave a lot of money for drinks/food or day beds. The difference is, every week they have a new schedule what’s going and a lot of promotions what makes it affordable and interesting again. Okay fine, the setting is also not too bad, actually it’s really nice. So apparently I am one of that person who’s falling in their trap as they have different cocktail offers during the whole week and ladies night happening on Tuesdays. Means free entry with free cocktails including canapé between 7pm – 9pm. Sorry boys! Music: Mix – Depends on the DJ

Lola’s Cantina Mexicana (942Q+VCC, Unnamed Road, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Badung Regency, Bali 80361; Opening hours 8:30am – 11:30pm): This tiny place is set up in a really colorful way. I love the positive vibes there. Although it’s in the middle of the shortcut and it’s always packed, they have happy hour everyday from 4pm – 7pm. Means you can purchase cocktails for only 50.000 IDR (3 Euro). But the big thing is happening on Lola’s Taco Tuesday as you will get one Taco for free when consuming a cocktail. The food in general is very tasty here so be fast and save your seat because they don’t accept reservations on that day! Music: Latin/Reggeaton

Shady Pig (Taman Tamora, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80111; Opening hours 6pm – 3am): This venue coming from Birmingham originally is one of the most fanciest spots I’ve entered in Bali, Although it is super small, It’s such an experience you can enjoy while staying in Bali. It starts with the location itself as you can barely recognize it. Furthermore they have a password at the door you can only enter with on special occasions. Secondly the place includes dances with real snakes you are not allowed to make photos or videos of. It has such an exclusive and high quality vibe with nice drinks and music. Definitely in insider! Music: Commercial House

Wednesday:

Milano Italian Restaurant & Bar (Jl. Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80351; Opening hours 7am – 12am): In my opinion, this place is the best Italian restaurant in Canggu why you can find me here on Wednesday every week. The interior is nice and the menu includes high quality food from antipasti, pasta, meat and fish. You can even go for breakfast or lunch here but I would recommend to go for dinner as especially the pizza is to die for. So you will find your Julia Roberts in Eat Pray Love moment here. Furthermore on Wednesdays is ladies night from 6pm onwards – means certain cocktails are 50% off and they bring limoncello shorts for free the whole light. So enjoy and buon appetito! Music: Chill-Out House

Da Maria Bali (Jl. Petitenget No.170, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 5pm – late): As you can see we have a lot of pizza days here, then besides Luigi’s on Monday and Milano I mentioned before Da Maria in Seminayk is another spot if you crave carbs and Italian vibes. The interior is kind of different as it is hold in blue and white which gives me some Santorini memories. The best and most famous party here called INNO is happening on Wednesdays. I have to admit, the music totally meets my taste. Apparently it does for a lot of people because it’s always fully packed. So try to catch the free entry on the guestlist until 11pm. If you go there by scooter be careful tho about the traffic around there, as it’s crazy like shit and you don’t want to get hit by a car as it happened to me almost one time. But that’s another story. Music: Hip Hop/ R’N’B

Vault Bali (Jl. Pantai Berawa No.99, Tibubeneng, Badung, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 10pm – 3am): The combination of Milano first and Vault after actually works perfectly as they are located 2 minutes away from each other. Don’t miss the entrance, as you can’t barely see this club at the first sight which makes it even more mysterious and to one of my favorites. You need to go downstairs and find your way based on their slogan “we live underground”. But when you finally reach the lion’s den you will get a setting you were not expecting for. The visual experience here made of red lights and a huge animation screen is from another level and is giving me such amazing London vibes (and that’s one of the best cities with the nicest clubbing experience I mad in my life so far). As Vault reaches the same level, I feel always homesick here. It’s is open 4x per week. but for me personally the best party is happening on Wednesdays for CHEDDAR as that’s the day when the real magic is happening! So now – if you know, you know – include it in your Bali nightlife schedule because it’s totally worth it! Music: Afro Latin Dancehall Hip-Hop

Thursday:

Desa Potato Head Bali (Jl. Petitenget No.51B, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 10am – 12am). You probably heard this name already as it’s one of the most famous beach clubs located in Singapore, Hong Kong and even in Seminyak Bali. The offer is huge and starts from a function as a hotel, spa with different wellness options, a gym with classes from yoga, breath work, sound healing and much more, to being a great sunset spot and cocktail place later in the evening. But besides all of these things I love the responsibility this places is showing in terms of “Good times, Do Good.” So when you enter, it seems like a kind of museum why it takes at least 15 minutes to reach the final beach club. No wonder why this spot is called Bali’s Creative Village. Music: Chill-Out Lounge Music

Motel Mexicola (Jl. Kayu Jati No.9X, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 11am – 1.30am): This spot is actually similar to Lola’s Cantina Mexicana mentioned on Tuesday, but it’s located in the heart of Seminyak in Bali. The food/drinks are great here and from tacos, quesadillas, empanadas, nachos, tostadas to margaritas, mojitos and tequila you can get everything her what your Mexican heart desires. Even the restaurant is designed in a trendy, original and colorfully way so you can already feel the positive Latin-American mentality when you enter. That’s why all the people here don’t give a fuck and starting dancing on the tables from 10pm onwards. Reminds me of Oktoberfest in my hometown Munich in a certain way. On the weekend they start charging now for entry (160.000 IDR – around 11 Euro) which is quite expensive in my opinion. You will get a voucher for a drink but I would suggest, just go on Thursday as it’s free on that day. Smart badass! Music: Commercial Latin

La Favela Bali (Jalan Laksamana Oberoi No.177X, Seminyak, Kec. Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80561; Opening hours 7pm – late): Have you ever been to Rio de Janeiro? No? Well I’ve been there and Cristo Redentor looks exactly the same at La Favela in Bali besides the fact that it’s not located on a high but on the way to the restroom. Another thing this place has in common with Brazil is the amount of people as it’s always crowed. That’s why it’s at least a little bit better to come here during the week. However, this club is designed as a huge jungle with different floors and music types why it’s one of Bali’s most exquisite hotspots, The basements function is a restaurant. The first floor represents a mix of commercial and hip hop. On the top floor all the electro fans are having a good time. They even have a photobox here you can use with your friends to catch all the best moments of the night. So I think you will definitely not getting bored there. Music: Commercial Pop, Hip Hop, Electro

Friday:

The Lawn (Jl. Pura Dalem, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 12pm – 12am): Known as a place to catch up, relaxe and celebrate you can watch sunsets, eat, drink, surf, and listen to music served over a daybed overlooking an amazing pool. Although it’s a bit pricey here, I would recommend to come especially for Lawn Fridays. On that day excited shows are happening and famous Djs are attending for what you can buy tickets in advance or right at the door. I know it’s another beach club – but I just can’t get enough of watching the light of the moon behind my beloved palm tress and the Indian Ocean behind. It’s addictive! Music: Mix – Depends on the DJ

Deus Ex Machina – Temple of Enthusiasm (Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan No.8, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 8am – 12.00m): This spot is very different to all the other once and has stores all over the world from Europe to Australia, America and Africa selling an amazing Merchandise with a lot of products from clothes and accessoires. The culture represents four categories: Motobikes, surfing, cycles and snow, so especially men will get their money’s worth here. Deus Cafe in Canggu is famous for it’s LIVE music events on Sundays from 6pm and comedy nights on Friday from 7pm onwards. So if you just want to try something new or just want to improve your laughing skills, you should safe your spot early and combine it with the happy hour before from 5pm – 7pm to get 2 for 1 cocktails! Music: Reggae, Dancehall, Rock

Black Sand Brewery (Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours; 12pm – 12am): This place is always packed especially on Fridays and you will probably meet half Canggu here. Luckily its’ a large pub so there is enough space even on the first floor, to either not or do run into that one person. It’s a home brewery so they are serving high quality craft beers with classic western food, But even for someone who doesn’t like beer as me (I know I am German/Czech – what’s wrong with me) there are a lot of cocktail options. Try a Negroni here, trust me! Music: Commercial Pop

The Velvet Room (SVÁ Bali Building, 2nd Floor, Jl. Pantai Berawa Gg. Kedaton No.5, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 9m – 3am): To be honest, this place is not one of my favorite because I felt really old there with my 27 years. I got the impression, that the average age is maybe around 18. However, if you are interested in Hip Hop/R’N’B music, VERSE on Friday is the best party for enyoing this type of music. For all my Reggaeton/Afro lovers I would recommend to join MALA VIDA on Saturday! Music: Hip Hop/R’N’B, Reggaeton/Afro

Morabito Art Vill (Jl. Pantai Brawa, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Tibubeneng, Kuta Utara, Tibubeneng, Kuta Utara, Canggu, Bali 80361; Opening hours 8am – late): This is actually a small boutique resort, very well located on the beach front of Berawa Canggu. During the night it turns into a proper club tho with an insane setting. The entrance looks already like you set foot in a park area until you reach the huge swimming pool from which you can see the ocean. Definitely worth to check it out! Music: Commercial House

Saturday:

Savaya Bali (Jl. Belimbing Sari, Banjar Tambiyak, Pecatu, Uluwatu, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80364; Opening hours 1pm – 12am): This place is the center of beach vibes and glamour – along the lines of “to see and to be seen”. One of the biggest parties are happening here especially on Saturday. But be early because firstly it finishes already around midnight latest and it’s far from any other place, so you will need another hour to change the location. Secondly you definitely want to catch the sunset from this amazing architecture to get one of your super instagrammable Bali pictures without crashing it by hundred other people with the same intention. So ready, steady, go. First come first serve! Music: Commercial House

Ulu Cliffhouse (Jl. Labuan Sait No. 315, Padang-Padang, Bali, Indonesia; Opening hours 12pm – 12am): This beach club is as the one I mentioned before in Uluwatu as well, located south-west the coast tho. I would recommend to come here for Saturdays as well because the trip already takes so long. Furthermore if you are interested in electronic house music, this spot is famous for it. Located on the cliffs of Bali it gives you a nice experience with an amazing setting. Music: Electronic/Techno

Atlas Beach Festival (Jl. Pantai Berawa No.88, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 10am – 12am): When I came to Bali in May they actually started building this beach club. After maybe 3 months they developed Bali’s so called “No.1 Destination and Largest One-Stop Entertainment Center”. And this name is literally describing  it on point. You can see the lightning show and sometimes even fireworks from this place all over Canggu. There is the longest beach bar in Asia, the longest pool side in southeast Asia and the biggest street market in Bali. You can go shopping here or even spend your time at at the gym if you are totally bored and don’t know what to do with your time. This place is so huge (to be honest, for me it’s a little bit too much) I was barely able to find the exit at the first time when I came. In addition it is full of tourists spending a lot of money there. The general admission just for walk-ins which only includes access to the pool area and a voucher for selected drink is 150.000 IDR (around 10 Euro). The price for day bed starts around 4.000.000 IDR (250 Euro) and if you just want to see a special Dj playing on Saturday from 9pm you need to buy a ticket at least for that (price depends on the artist). So as you can see – it’s not a cheap place. But it deserve it’s position in that list because it will just take your breath away and you will literally think “that’s insane” for sure. Music: House/Electronic

Finns Beach Club (Jl. Pantai Berawa No.99, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 10am – 12am): Finns Beach Club offers a piece of paradise with the choice of: 4 pools, 9 bars (including 2 swim up pool bars), 5 restaurants, daily DJs, live vocalists and stunning sunsets – at the most well known beach in Bali – Berawa, Canggu. The Beach Club’s architecture has been specially designed with a bamboo structure for guaranteed sunsets views. The good thing is, the entry is for free even on Saturdays and no minimum spend applied after 8pm what makes joining this beach club super convenient. Happy hour is happening between 7pm – 9pm and means that you buy one and get one for free! As all the other beach clubs mentioned before, it’s closing around midnight. So best time to come here already for sunset. Music: Commercial/House

ShiShi Bali (Jl. Petitenget No.208X, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 6pm – 3am): Known as Bali’s most elite dining & nightlife venue located in Seminyak Bali it’s open 7 days per week from Monday till Sunday from 6pm starting with dinner. They have food promotions with different types of infusion kitchen everyday, But on Wednesdays for example ladies night is happening there from 8pm till 10pm. And on Saturday they offer an all you can eat promo for 199.000 IDR (around 12 Euro) which is pretty good as the Sushi is super high in quality and apparently one of the best (Ok I need to admit, I personally never ate there because I am probably the only person in the world who – besides beer – doesn’t like Sushi either). But as I know from friends, the reservations are limited and only possible for 2 hours in total. After having an amazing dinner and rolling from the table you can shake it off on the two dance floors which have two different types of music as well. Girls are for free, guys need to pay entry for 160.000 IDR (around 11 Euro) and get a voucher for a free drink to consume. Cheers! Music: 1. floor house/techno, 2. floor commercial/hip-hop

Sunday:

La Brisa (Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 10am – 11pm): This is actually my favorite place for watching the sunset in Canggu and reminds me always on the first day I came to Bali when friends where taking me there. That was the day I felt in love and started working with my laptop from the pool which is decorated with fairy lights. The name itself describes the spot quite well as you can find the Bali breeze right here surrounded by palm trees, coconuts and surfers catching the waves when the sun goes down. Usually they are closing around midnight latest, sometimes have special events until late indeed. The best thing is the Sunday Market happening here from 10am to 4pm, which offers everything from clothes, food, fresh fruits, vegetables to jewelry and cosmetics. Such a chilled Sunday program with a lot of positive vibes! Music: Chill-Out (Special events: Electronic)

Single Fin Bali (Uluwatu, Pantai Suluban, Jl. Labuansait, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361; Opening hours 8am – 1am): Last but not least, the best surf bar in Uluwatu will finish the Bali Nightlife Schedule from Monday till Sunday. You can actually spend the whole day here and either go for a surf or just watch them from above – the view itself is worth coming here. On Sundays from 5pm onwards they do special parties with LIVE music and half off cocktails and pizza, with what you guys can start all over again on Monday as Bali apparently has an extraordinary good ability for the Italian cousine. Music: House

So print it out, put it above your beds and don’t forget: It’s all about balance and not about heavy drinking, wasting money and time the whole night. We should simply enjoy life while dancing and listen to music we like while having a good time with our friends so we can look back on our 90 years old self and be hundred percent sure we explored the most in our lifes.

Cheers
Alisa
